Sales Executive

Ecovision is a growing business managing rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. We currently manage thousands of installations on behalf of large asset portfolio investors, councils and housing associations.

With rooftop solar energy being one of the key methods to tackle the effects of CO2 emissions and combatting climate change, this has created opportunities within the industry for an organisation like Ecovision to grow and further contribute to the sector.

Role Overview

As a reasonably new sales team, opportunities are driven by great people creating and identifying opportunities for discussions and presentations. As a result, the role holder will need to be persistent, resilient and accountable for a high level of engagement activity to develop a pipeline of opportunities. While this may seem daunting you will be key to your own success and the spoils that go with it.

Gaining initial contact with the right people is the first and most vital step in ensuring the growth and success of the business. The Sales Executive will be responsible for initiating contact with clients to present our range of specialist solar PV services for businesses of all sizes &  identify opportunities where Ecovision can support with generating more energy and income from solar.

Due to existing contracts, potential clients may not be able to work with us immediately, so the role holder will be responsible for building relationships and maintaining excellent records of procurement cycles and decision-making processes to develop the future sales opportunity pipeline.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Outbound sales activity
  • Work with Sales Team to identify target customers for sales campaigns
  • Research prospect organisations and update information into the company CRM (Salesforce)
  • Maintain meticulous records of decision makers, decision making processes and opportunities
  • Provide customer and prospect feedback to the enhance our overall service offering

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years within a B2B sales environment
  • Investigating clients needs and handling rejection
  • Managing potentially long lead times and call back sales cycles
  • Fully IT Literate
  • Salesforce (Desirable)
  • Confident and engaging communication skills
  • Understanding of the solar industry highly desirable, though not essential

We currently manage over 18,000 installations across mainland UK (40MWp capacity), primarily on behalf of Portfolio Investors, Councils and Housing Associations. What you’ll do

  • To conduct reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits. This will involve system testing and fault diagnosis relating to the design, installation, and communication (with our monitoring platform) of rooftop Commercial and domestic Solar PV systems.
  • React to best practice and Legislative changes by supporting changes to standardised operating protocols in accordance with system design and installed equipment.
  • Ensure knowledge and approach of all technical aspects are well understood and consistently applied by all engineers. Support the ‘back-office’ function in technical matters.
  • To ensure personal and site health and safety procedures and protocols are always followed to understand, assess and mitigate risks effectively.

What you’ll need

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Proven technical understanding of Commercial (to 1MW) and domestic rooftop Solar PV, to include generation and export metering, inverters, fault finding and ensuring systems function in accordance with design parameters.
  • The ability to effectively convey technical issues to a lay person.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to use technology remotely is a must.


Travel: To Solar PV sites (A company vehicle will be provided) in the areas of Guildford, Crawley & West Sussex and nearby area

Salary: Competitive package, fully expensed company vehicle, all IT equipment, plus opportunity for further required training
